Moving forum from root to folder?

While I'm working on site updates, I'm looking for information and suggestions related to a possible restructuring of my site. I'm thinking about adding a WordPress blog as a front page and connecting it to the forum through XenScripts's bridge. As such, I'd want to put the blog at the root and put the forum in a folder (voiceradio.us/forum). However, the forum's currently at the root--if I move it to a folder, how will that impact SEO and what do I need to do beforehand so I don't unnecessarily impact that?

As a side note, if anyone has examples of their sites using the XenScripts bridge, feel free to share them (either here or to my profile or inbox).
