XF 2.2 Moving forum folders from one server to another.

I have got the db working and I will copy over the existing folders as I don't want to reinstall everything.

Do I copy the Data and Internal_data folder contents or do they get recreated?

You'll probably want to copy all of those directories over as well. Those directories contain things like attachment data, template caches, etc. Not all of those things can be re-created.

I just use zip to archive the entire forum directory structure and all files - transfer that file plus the database dump to the new server, then import the database and unzip the directories.

Tar or gzip or any other archiving tool would also work.

One of my sites has 300GB of media images, so I'll typically use rsync to transfer the files rather than trying to zip it all up.
