    Hi all,

I have a tonne of categories with a "General" forum in each, I've decided that I want to make the category itself a forum, and have all the general threads in root.

Is there any easy way of doing this?

    My website is www.HackSlashRepeat.com.

Wow, I would have thought there would have been a facility to do this in XF. Obviously not!

Anyways, that part I can probably figure out, but I can't move threads to a category (only to a forum), and it seems that categories cannot be converted to forums. So, is the best way of doing this recreating the same forum name and then running the queries? This is going to get very messy and confusing :(

Yep. You need to create a new forum then move the threads to that forum.
