Duplicate Moving a thread marks it as new but does not show in New Posts

This issue almost seems like a carryover from vB days as I had the same issue in vB. I'm all caught up on my forum and I move a thread to a new forum. It has the option checked notify watchers, whatever it is on the move dialog. I see the thread is bold showing as a new post yet when I click "New Posts" it doesn't show that thread in a list, nothing new. The only way I can clear it is to click mark forums read (not sure if I clicked in the thread if that would work too, probably). But seems there's a long standing but in "New Posts" not picking up a moved thread.

Maybe because it's simply not a new post.
He is new to the destination forum but not considered new to the forum, at least not new enough to appear in What's new
