XF 1.4 Moved UPLOAD folder instead of contents during Media Gallery upgrade

I upgraded my Media Gallery incorrectly. Instead of opening the contents of the UPLOAD folder and dragging the sub-folders (js, library, styles) to my root, I dragged the whole UPLOAD folder. I don't remember if there was already an UPLOAD folder in my root before I did this. Should there be an UPLOAD folder in the root? If not, can I safely delete the UPLOAD folder and do the upgrade over?

There is not normally an upload folder in the root. (I couldn't say if another add-on intentionally adds it, but it seems unlikely.)

Thanks. I went ahead and removed that folder and looks like everything is working as it should.
