This option should be found in the XFES add on Options to be more intuitive about the features it supports.
I had to change style, disable all add ons, etc. to try and get it to work. But then searched XF admin options for "search" then found this in Search options. It shouldn't be that difficult to understand where to enable a feature that comes with XFES.
Perhaps a checkbox that is disabled (uncheckable) if "Enable search engine" is disabled and a message that links to Search options to enable the search engine in order to Enable search suggestions in XFES options.
Shouldn't have to run around outside of XFES Options to find an XFES Option.
