XF 2.3 Moderation and spam filters

I'd like to moderate threads/posts by new members only if they contain links. If they're plain text (no links) they shouldn't be held for moderation and should post immediately.

I'm testing with a brand new member account that is well below the 10 messages to check for spam. However, posts with links are not being held for moderation unless I also have the "Submit content without approval" permission in the usergroup also set to "no."

It appears either one of my settings is wrong or the system isn't respecting the spam check. Any ideas what could be wrong?

I'm still wondering if xenForo's built-in spam checker is supposed to check for links and hold the post for moderation if any exist? Unless I'm misunderstanding the feature, it seems like this isn't working correctly.

If possible, I'd like to allow new members to make posts with links, but hold them in moderation (and manually approve or reject them) if they're spam.

Try not using regex.
