XF 2.0 [MN] Showing first depth Subforums only

We are using the subforum dropdown menu, however, we often have subforums within subforums so the subforum dropdown list is considerably lengthy at this point.

Is there a way so the dropdown menu only shows the first depth, without children of children etc?

I.e.
Parent
->Subforum 1 (only these should show in the subforum list for parent)
---> Subforum 2

How can I change it to display only first depth without children of children etc..?

I haven't tested this properly but I believe this would hide any second level links in the sub-nav popup.
Extra.less:

ol.subNodeMenu ol {
    display: none;
}
