XF 1.4 Missing .htaccess somewhere

After trying to get Tapatalk to work, my site would not load, so I reinstalled the XF files.

Now the index page loads, but I get this error when I try to go to a forum:

    Not Found
The requested URL /login/login was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I believe an .htaccess file is lost/missing that controls friendly URLs.

How do I fix this? If I need the file, where do I get it?

Thank you- that got it up and running. The logo is not showing (the address is correct and the file is there- I checked).

    What could that be?

The logo shows fine for me.

I cleared my cache, and the logo, ads, avatars, and shoutbox are not showing up, though are properly set and present.

    What does that indicate? Permissions?

Make sure to check the recursive option as well.
