XF 2.3 Message Entry box slow to load on XF sites

Hello

On both this site and my XF hosted site running 2.3, whenever I load a thread it takes a very long time for the message entry box to appear at the bottom of the page and thus the page get stuck at the top - allowing it to load - before it scrolls goes to the linked post. It takes about 10-20 seconds to load. This is very annoying.

It does it on this forum, and on my own and in both Brave and Edge. It does not do it on my android devices. Only browser extension I use is proton pass and I have lowered my Brave shields on my site. No effect. Desktop is running windows 11.

I've tried clearing cache and browser data but that's only seemed to make it even worse.

Any ideas of what could be going on? I haven't heard any complaints from my users about it so it may just be a "me" problem.

Have you tried opening the site in incognito mode? Since the issue only happens on your desktop and not on mobile, it could be something related to your browser setup.

If the problem still occurs in incognito mode try opening the developer tools (press F12 in Brave/Edge) and check the console for any errors or the network tab to see if anything is taking too long to load.

The problem does not manifest in incognito mode. The message editor box appears as soon as the page is rendered. I tried another data clearing in my browser and that hasn't made a difference.

I haven't changed any browser settings and this issue only manifested after the 2.3 upgrade. Any insights into what settings (javascript?) to inspect would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I seem to have fixed it by applying some windows updates. Not sure exactly what was changed but I'm glad its fixed. The fact that it worked just fine on my mobile devices but both of my windows browsers were failing should have been an indication of where the problem was.

Unfortunately the error has persisted, and I believe it has to do with my VPN provider. When my VPN is active - the 'essential.js' script is blocked from the request URL: https://cloudmetrics.xenforo.com/js/essential.js

There is a particular VPN location (ExpressVPN - New York) that appears to be blocked from getting that package. Whenever I select that VPN location the request URL is unreachable.
