hello,
am i missing something here?
seems like a bug, i cant imagine what config could prevent that...
"latest media" works, "random media" makes the widget not display.

kind regards

you know i was just wondering that....it may not be enough to be "random" but i thought it would at least show what there is like the latest media one....its enough to slide, but yeah hmm...

oh yes thank you...that seems to explain why xf will rather not show it than show it broken....is there an official min # for random to work by now?

regards

Bump, and my reply from the other thread: I'm running into this same issue. This is legitimately broken behavior. At least let the user set a toggle that says to use the high performance way that's easier on the server, or the way that works properly all the time.

how i understand it, "the way that works properly all the time" is having enough media files....which we dont exactly know how many so it seems like you just have to test it sometimes.....with our larger filesystem its never once been a problem but trying to do custom sliders from only one category or such doesnt really work..

The way they have it just makes zero sense, and is broken. It's not 100% broken, but it's still broken.

im still trying to determine the number required to perform random.....it seems like several thousand....like something around 10k?.....its a little unreasonable really, would be really nice to see this code improved.
