XF 1.1 Malicious attacks

We have some users who are registering with disposable e-mails from various different websites whilst using proxies and VPNs to cause malicious attacks against the community. Since the community is a multiplayer gaming one, I would guess that their banned from the game and want to cause us some headaches.

I do ban the e-mail addresses like so:

But is there an add on that has an index of such e-mails already to prevent further attacks against our community and a collection of these proxy IPs/ VPNs.

As for your actual query, I'm almost certain there will be a list of services somewhere. If you find one, we could probably advise of a quick way of importing these using a MySQL query.

After reading it again, I don't know why I described the images they posted - I can't get it out of my mind. I panicked!

For other people in my position, this is what I did:

I installed XenUtiles (http://xenforo.com/community/resources/8wayrun-com-xenutiles-tools.104/) and then I enabled the 'Enable STOPFORUMSPAM.COM for Registration Checking' whilst providing an API key from STOPFORUMSPAM.com.

What this will do is pre-check the user's registration details such as IP and e-mail. It will detect disposable e-mails and IP addresses reported as spammers.

Hopefully this defuses my headache.

I use it and I REALLY like it. Was worth the (now) $38.01 USD to get.

and even if a spammer gets through, there are extra features in the collection such as Stop Human Spam that you can set up that will prevent them posting spam links in the most common places on your forum.
