Looking forward now to 1.1

I have just read through the whole topic and love how heated it got at times, it made for an interesting thread. But here is my two cents on the matter of 1.1. So far, XenForo has been an awesome piece of kit and many owners of it love it for what it is. If you are thinking of moving over from your current board supplier to XF then I'm sure the whole community will help you make the plunge. If you think (even for a second) that you will miss any of the add-ons that you currently have installed then do not bother wasting your time moving to XF.

From my point of view, the whole idea of XF is to be as clean as possible and to keep things fast and up to date. It is forum software, not an arcade platform or gallery platform. Yes, there are developers out there that are building add-ons to get some excitement back into it but they are not going to be able to keep up with the pace of more established forums out there (not yet anyway).

Many people here have said they are waiting for 1.1 to be released before they move to XF, and that confuses me. If I was Kier & Mike I'd put the price up by 5% just before releasing it just to hack people off. We all believe in the software, that's why we are here, and many of us use it on a live site right now with just the forum functionality cos that is what we need, sure 1.1 is going to bring loads of new features to the table and no doubt re-write the way forums work but let it come out when it's ready.

If 1.1 was released tomorrow, how many of you would download it straight away and get that fuzzy feeling inside? Most of you no doubt. Now how would you feel if it just didn't function like it did in 1.0.x because it wasn't tested/built right in the first place? Let them get on with it and when it comes out it will blow you away.

Rant over... discuss!

I have been in a job at which colleagues pushed me to meet certain deadlines in order to submit projects. I always told them that it is not the "due date" which is important, but the quality of the work I am doing in order to be successful. However they still kept pushing me to meet timelines. Outcome: my colleagues have always been wrong! Yeah, they have been happy because they submitted "my work" just in time meeting the due-date, but in the end there was no positive outcome.

I highly appreciate that Kier and Mike do not let themselves getting pushed, but take their time which is needed to deliver a quality product.

IMHO, they should increase pricing by 100%
Quality is priceless anyway.

I'm just airing my opinion! The price of XenForo is low for the quality of product that you get (again, I stress, in my opinion)!! With regards to what I'm smoking, nothing at all... but I do love how some members on here do seem to jump straight on your back as soon as you air your opinion.

I agree with the qualith deserving the price, however the reality is that if the price was increased then there would be less sales. You would probably make around the same profit wise, however there is a bigger advantage to having a lower price as there will be a faster uptake, more people creating skins, more people creating and requesting addons, and most of all more feedback to the people who need it (KMA)

I really cant understand why some users in here "begging" to increase the price or is it just to appreciate the work?
Well, I was and am quite happy about the pricing. I have to take care of my money, i am not rolling in it. Which does not mean i do not appreciate what i got. I do!!! I try to give what i can as some coders around here should know.

Dont start discussions about whats worth and whats not like other  Forumsoftware Users are doing it.
If you think, its worth more you can start donating. Even i would if i could

Exactly, the price of XenForo is at the right place for the majority of users. If you believe it should cost more then buy an additional licence. I have 1 spare licence that has not been activated just to show my appreciation to the team and once 1.1 comes out I shall buy another, not to use, just to give them funding as I am happy paying slightly more and show it by purchasing another licence.

To all those who think it should cost double etc, go buy another licence. :)

Sometimes I run out of whiteboard space and have to resort to drawing on the furniture.

Hopefully your former employer doesn't see this. Otherwise they will claim that this board was in their office and you have removed it from there and that the drawings are their intellectual property :D

This one time I took the pepsi challenge, chose old spice and still won a free stick of my own.

i feel like version 1.1 is very close... for some reason i've noticed a couple of very small tweaks to the main style... hopefully it means something :)

The only change i noticed here is that the favicon is missing:D

And i think they're delaying it, because Kier didn't post the video last week:D

I heard it was because Kier was in the London riots. Not actually rioting, just waiting on the outskirts for someone to pass him new powermac for his other hand.

Ok. So dont try telling me it's "Still Summer" - It's getting dark in the mornings, the local pubs have started to take bookings for Christmas lunches, and to top it off it's been raining for nearly 24 hours now.... ;)
