Link Directory (LD) [Deleted]

@au lait

Few requests...

1. Can we disable categories from showing? I don't need those. If we can't disable categories, can you give us option to display the categories in a nicer way?
1.5 - can we disable the numbers from appearing next to the category names? That's a distraction and not needed. It probably also requires an unnecessary DB query.
2. Can you fix the category display from the top? It takes up TOO much room, pushes links a few inches down, and it can be organized better by giving us the version below.

check the "Options" in ACP named "Categories-List Position".
Maybe display the Categories in the Sidebar, so they will not take up any space at the top.

Agree.
The "numbers" should be ditched.

when Categories are listed on top, the SubCats could be limited to 1 line only.
Similar as here:

Hi @otto - Thanks for getting back to me. The picture you see in my other post is the actually display.. If I go to my profile (or other members do the same) and chose - likes you have recieved - I see all the likes. The picture show 3 likes from Link Directory, where the text is not displayed. Have taken a new screenshot where you see 3 likes from Feb. 9 - but the LD liked text is missing.

This only happens when a users like the actually link in Link Directory. If a user like the link thread about the link then I got the like text. Its all of the post with liked LD text that is missing.

I think its the first one of those here that is missing.

PHP:
<phrase title="ld_links_x_liked_your_link_y" addon_id="phc_LinkDirectory" version_id="19770004" version_string="1.0"><![CDATA[{username} synes om dit link {link}]]></phrase>
 <phrase title="ld_links_x_rated_your_link_y" addon_id="phc_LinkDirectory" version_id="19772001" version_string="2.0"><![CDATA[{username} stemte på dit link {link}]]></phrase>

"Likes" are not showing in "Recent Activity" yet.
This is not yet implemented.

Hi @erich37 - Its not about the 'Recent Activity' - but in the - Likes you've received - list..

The like text for a link is missing - but the user who liked it - is there ..

upload_2016-2-20_10-24-12.webp

Thats the same for all users who is like a link..

upload_2016-2-20_10-25-17.webp

And here you see that the last user is like this link..

Issue:
In ACP options, I have "Default value -> Create Thread" ticked (Yes).
For user group permissions I have "Has a choice whether or not a thread to be created:" set to "Not Set (No)".

Thus, I would expect that threads are created by default, and the user has no choice whether one is created or not, and therefore a thread is created when a link is added.
But, no thread is being created.

yeah, this is not yet implemented.
I guess it is the same code as for "Likes" in "Recent Activity".

Not a big deal for @au lait
I am pretty sure we will see this in the next release.

:)

Maybe this is a noob question - but if not yet implemented - how can it be, that I can see the users who have liked a link in the list but without the text - the phrases are there in the language file? If not implemented yet, my understanding will be that no post should be there at all - right?

@51463
I also dont can find a clickable link or button - but you can see it under this link: /links/bookmarks

I think that will be surly be solved next release...

we have already discussed possible items to be included in the "SubNavBar" previously:

as I have said previously, I think there should be other items positioned within the "SubNavBar".
Items which actually make sense to be located there.

Example:
https://xenforo.com/community/threads/link-directory-ld-paid.105024/page-12#post-1028236

As it is currently, having the items e.g.: "Recent Likes", "Most Liked", "Most Visited", "Most Ratings" in the "SubNavBar" makes little sense.
Also, have a look at "Recent Likes" in the "SubNavBar" and see where it is linking towards (it is linking to the LD-Homepage).

Once again, lets collectively think about which items really make sense to be listed in the "SubNavBar" and which items actually do not belong there ("Double Dipping").
Compare it with the items which are being used in the "SubNavBar" of the "RM" and the "Media Gallery" and maybe make it somehow similar (as far as possible) ?

Let's do some creative "Brainstorming" all together and figure out what makes the most logical sense.

:)

I suggest SubNav items of (and in below order);
 • Retain current "Add Link"
 • Add "Search Links" going to /search/?type=ld_links Forums, Resources, Showcase all have this.
 • Add "Recent Links" going to /linkdirectory/?order=dateline&direction=desc
 • Retain current "Most Ratings"
 • Retain current "Your Links (x)"
 • Add "Your Bookmarks" going to /members/username.userid/#ld_bookmarks
 • Retain current "Links Needing Attention"

:)

You become a "Image Error - HTTP Code 500" when you try to make a Screenshot and you become a not found error when you try to search for OG image - but you can upload a own Screenshot, that works.

I think here is a problem with facebook site, but not realy with the LD. ;)

Please have a look and test it at www.xenmade.com

Make sure we can enable/disable anything new.

I keep most features disabled because I like this quick, easy, and light.

And...most features are cool, but they're sometimes a distraction to getting more clicks :)
