I personally like that the grid boxes take picture size into account. If it would be a static thumbnail size, it will have to be like XFMG grid view which also takes into account the responsive layout and scales the boxes per page width. To have this as an "option" somewhere in the future would be "nice-to-have" though.

BTW: XenGallery does not use any "text" underneath the image whereby the text has different amount of characters..

But you need to make sure that all your users upload the same image-sizes, otherwise the images will look blurred.
And having an "image-centric website" which shows blurred images does not look very professional...

You also need to consider that some users will enter a "website description" containing maybe 20 characters and other users will enter a "website description" containing 500 characters (depending on the character-limit which you set) which will expand the boxes in height and therefore you will have "white empty spots" at the bottom of some of the boxes.

I see not realy bad points with it. It must not be a default, so you and freelancer ( ) can use the more modern style - but as you can see it gives other peopel that see the things much diferent.

So this as a option will be a clear +point for au laits addon I think.

yeah, this is possible if you limit the "website description" to 1 line or 2 lines only (so you would need to skip the "amount of characters"-feature and limit the text "by number of lines").
Or you find another design-idea and figure out where you want to put your text (website description text).

But all your images will be "blurred" anyway.... unless you and all your users upload the photos in the same size.... which is rather impossible.

First point - the server can snip the images. Second point - you see my screenshots above? Nothing is blurred, and nearly all pictures have a different pixel size. In both named addons it works.

Just have a look at the official "XF Media Gallery" at a big screen and see how blurred the images are.

I use a 24" with 1920x1200 Pixel resolution - the same resolution I made the screenshots above - and there is also nothing blurred as you can see.

The question is whether the pinterest style suits a link directory. The image is not the most important thing here. It's the title and the actual link. It's not a media gallery.

After testing i realize i don't need those suggestions, some people told me but i didn't know until i actually bought the add-on.
maybe someone else want the suggestions, but i dont think it is needed anymore,

yeah, it would be nice to have a link back from the "Forum-Thread" towards the specific "Link in the LD".
It will work with the "Perma-Link" as you have mentioned in your Mockup.... but it somehow needs to look "nice" and being easily "visible" for the user.

Is those in-compatible with each other? Why I ask, because I have this issues as written about in this post - https://xenforo.com/community/threads/link-directory-ld-paid.105024/page-33#post-1039396.

I have tried to disabled the - best answer - addon, but still have the issues with missing liked text on links in users news in profile.

Hope to hear from someone - with solution or some hints.

I have not both installed, but I have read your post, you linked - I cant open your Screens in that post, so I cant say anything about nor can I make test to clearify.
So please load better Screens up here and au lait or I can say something about and make own tests.

Hi @otto - Thanks for getting back to me. The picture you see in my other post is the actually display.. If I go to my profile (or other members do the same) and chose - likes you have recieved - I see all the likes. The picture show 3 likes from Link Directory, where the text is not displayed. Have taken a new screenshot where you see 3 likes from Feb. 9 - but the LD liked text is missing.



This only happens when a users like the actually link in Link Directory. If a user like the link thread about the link then I got the like text. Its all of the post with liked LD text that is missing.

I think its the first one of those here that is missing.
