@BrianC There's a few minor styling bugs on RC2.1 (nothing major on my dev copy), though I am pushing for the new overhaul end of this week which is built on RC. Unless there's any particular changes between RC and official XF2.1, the incoming theme update will be the official 2.1+ theme.
I apologize for any missed replies as I've had issues with alerts not showing up here at XF.com, though I'm crossing everything onto email/mobile notif's to prevent that issue.
On page/portal/CMS ideas, I haven't announced this yet but have been prepping a full Bootstrap-like page bulding framework which will be packaged into all my themes. It can produce very jazzy home pages and layouts similar to what you'd find on Wordpress sites, or pages using Wordpress plugins like WPBakery Visual Composer.
It's already in use for my upcoming Nulumia.com website:
Some current features:
I'm really hoping to port this into a plugin, as right now it's somewhat developer/designer oriented in that you need to know modest CSS. I'm currently looking into whether a live-appearance window model can be implemented in the backend as a plugin, so the user can see what they're designing using the wizard interface. If this isn't possible though, I may abandon the addon approach - needs more checking.
