XF 2.2 Last read / read marking glitches

Did a search. Saw the same question once, but it wasn't answered.

Normally, when I open a thread, it automatically takes me to the newest post (past the last read post). Suddenly, when I click on a thread, it's taking me to the 1st post, even though I've read beyond that before.

What's the deal there? And, can it be fixed? Thanks!

How old is the thread?

If the last post you've previously read in that thread is older than the read marking cutoff the thread is effectively fully unread as the read mark has already been deleted.

This would be working as designed, but you could increase the cutoff.

I'm lost in that first sentence. Ha! Sorry. I've read it a few times, and I have no idea what it means.

It happens to me all the time on this site. It just happened to me on the thread here, took me to the first post, instead of the new post.
