XF 2.3 Joined Date format

I've configured my forum to use a Custom Date Format for the Threads and Replies of (D) d-M-Y @ H:i:s. This works really well for the archiving I want, but it has a side effect of altering the Member Joined Date, as I don't want the time displayed. How can I override this setting to use just the date: (d-M-Y)

Just so that people know, I figured this out. In the template "message_macros", there's a line of code:

                    <xf:if is="$extras.register_date">
                        <dl class="pairs pairs--justified">
                            <dt>{{ phrase('joined') }}</dt>
                            <dd>{{ date($user.register_date) }}</dd>
                        </dl>
                    </xf:if>

I changed it to the following. I'll probably have to make this change for any future software modifications too, just FYI.

                    <xf:if is="$extras.register_date">
                        <dl class="pairs pairs--justified">
                            <dt>{{ phrase('joined') }}</dt>
                            <dd>{{ date('d-M-Y', $user.register_date) }}</dd>
                        </dl>

Today I learned about Template Modifications!

Find:

<xf:if is="$extras.register_date">
                        <dl class="pairs pairs--justified">
                            <dt>{{ phrase('joined') }}</dt>
                            <dd>{{ date($user.register_date) }}</dd>
                        </dl>
                    </xf:if>

Replace:

<xf:if is="$extras.register_date">
                        <dl class="pairs pairs--justified">
                            <dt>{{ phrase('joined') }}</dt>
                            <dd>{{ date('d-M-Y', $user.register_date) }}</dd>
                        </dl>
                    </xf:if>
