XF 1.4 Issues with imported data

Not wholly sure this is the right forum, but.

I'm currently working with a forum just imported from SMF 2.0. The import went off correctly, but there are various issues with viewing the imported data, some caused by corruption during the import process, some by differences between SMF and XF's BBcode renderers. Manually altering all of these from within the forum is not an option, but it seems most of them are amenable to some form of procedural solution. Is there a non-dangerous way to run a transform over the entire posts table, in order to fix these? (I assume before any such operation I should take a backup.) Or is there some other preferable method?

Thanks. This looks like it will fix most of my problems, once only I get a working forum on which to use it.
