They’ve probably changed something in their code that XF needs to update in their next release

Thank you for reporting this issue, it has now been resolved. We are aiming to include any changes that have been made in a future XF release (2.1.10).

Change log:

Use an alternative Pinterest URL for the share page buttons.

There may be a delay before changes are rolled out to the XenForo Community.

I was this far away from actually removing the button entirely, but at the last minute I found a method that seems to work. It uses Pinterest's "find" functionality which searches for pins based on URL and allows you to create a new pin using any image it scrapes from that URL. Seems to work ok.

Unfortunately the new approach does not work with iOS so we may have to explore another approach. The original share URL may work with some changes.
