iShop or vBCommerce Alternative

I've got Maximilian, Tyson and VincentU on the list for donations and exclusive use of this add-on so far. I will send out PCs to each of you to share the donation amount needed to contribute. That should be next week though as the coder is taking a few days off for the Independence Day weekend :D

Please tell me how much, I'm gonna have to decide on that :(

I'll know around the middle of this week. More info to come :D

I might possibly be interested in helping with the funds. Wondering about which credit system will be used, or if it will be self contained. A few other questions as well. Any information would be appreciated.

I'm shooting to be able to use the Trophy Points that xF uses built-in.

Before we can get a quote, I'd like to get a full list of features that we'd like to see in the add-on.

For my wants/needs....

USER
Ability to use 'trophy points' to 'purchase' the 'icons/images'
Ability to display "x # of icons/images" within the postbit area or just above signature area
Ability to display all 'inventory/collection' in the profile area in a tabbed setup
Ability to select order in which the icons/images display in both postbit and profile

ADMIN
Ability to have categories of icons/images
Auto-resize option for icons/images
Ability to sort icons available 'for sale'
Ability to set the amount of 'credits' for the 'purchase' of the icons/images

....this was just off of the top of my head. But, since it's late I will be adding more information tomorrow.

What are the 'must-have' options for the rest of you?

I'm still willing to put in, but i dont want it to be just a store for icons images etc.
It should be open for anyone to create various ways to use it.

What i would need it to have is:
I want the ability to have a "store" that I can add any type of item/service/upgrade to.
Users can then purchase these items in exchange for credits they have earned from posting etc.
Would also need the ability to charge to post in selected forums.

If possible a deposit system would be great too. Eg. if you want something from the store but don't have enough credits you can then buy credits with real cash.

If i'm way off the track of what you want just say.

Ahh - i think i may have gotten the wrong end of the stick on this. I was thinking this would be a proper e-commerce shop, interfacing with Paypal and others, as opposed to "credits" that they have earned.

If this isnt the case, then i'm afraid you'll have to rule me out.

Apologies
Paul

You know I have used this thread for xShop and I never even once posted. I approached Arny in regards to this and am proud to say that xShop is working towards the goals that everyone has expressed. Some features will have to wait till 1.1 or 2.0 but they will be added.

Also this is a premium addon that has a price of unknown at the moment.

Here is screenshots of xShop 80% complete.

FYI, as this grows, xShop will become 2 things, an image/upgrade shop or an e-commerce shop. There will be an option where if you set it for either one of those, the display changes, how it is used, changes, etc.

An e-commerce won't be for a bit as I have to learn Paypal incorporation so items can be bought straight from the shop.

With the amount of time I have put into it, multiplied by my normal amount per hour, divided by 12 months, it comes out to be $50 but I'm thinking of going $30 to help out those who think $50 is a bit much for a mod that is not quite full of features which they would be correct. So for the first year of all sales will be $30. What do you think Stewart?

This is your product, your time. I am not the type to argue (not that I have any issues with what is listed) with what anyone values their work. I think you fully have the right to set the price at what you need it to be.

True but tough economy and I want to help out those who will be using it and suggesting features or tweaks to it.

I can tell you, I will be using it, and I am the type that will report bugs, issues etc. I don't like to ask for a ton of help, I like to try and figure most of it out on my own, helps me learn more about the product.... But I don't have a problem with adding suggestions and reporting things as needed.

Great to hear. I'm just waiting on a reply from someone who gave me a hand with a few issues then I can add another feature and be done.

Like I stated above, this is started as an image shop, as it progresses I will be expanding it to be used as a user upgrade shop, image shop, virtual goods shop all around, then later on moving it to a choice of xShop or xShop-Commerce.
