XF 1.2 Is there any way to make responsive design user-selectable

Some of my users like responsive design for the obvious reasons. Others, though, resent it because they use the site only from a traditional desktop and do not like to see the sidebar material pushed to the bottom of the forum when they narrow the width of their browser. I would therefore love to make responsive design user-selectable.

Is there any way to make that possible? Perhaps an add-on could do this, or does one already exist for it?

Have two styles with the responsive one a child of the fixed.
