XF 2.2 Is there a way to separate question threads from discussion threads inside a category forum?

Hi Guys!

I cant really decide how I should build my forum: focus on questions

my forum is about medical conditions

or on discussion threads.... I would rather go with discussion but Im not sure if that's what most people want.
Anyway if I choose both, is there a way to separate qustions from normal discussion threads ?

You can control what thread types are allowed in a forum node so if you want questions separate from discussion, create two nodes, one a question forum that only allows questions and the other a discussion forum with questions disabled.

Yeah, but it would look bad, if you have duplicated category for everything. No other way to do it?

Well, in that case inside of the forum nodes...
You can post discussion threads and forum threads, but is there a way to separate them?
So that it will be easier not to mix them up.

Yes, there is a filter option on the right.
I have suggested better use of filtering here:

Lack of interest - Add a "filter bar" to the mixed-content type forums and adapt corresponding structure

"Thread type" filters were just implemented by XF and appear when you click Filter, and are under the selection "Thread types" so I consider them pretty buried. My suggestion is a filter bar which is consistent with the new types in dedicated forums, but also this helps with discovery. Also if...
