Is it safe to try XenForo 1.4 in live site?

A calculated risk. Some of us like to test things and, having tested in our Test Instalations (everybody has one, right?) come to conclusion that the risks are minimal, that the backups are up-to-date and... why not?

The "Select to Quote" feature is a tremendous success between my users

Generally, yes, but some people are willing to bypass testing and take the risk.

I believe it'll be released "when it's ready". More waiting is required.
