Jake is more or less correct. The layout engine in Edge is basically a fork of the IE11 rendering engine. Its versioning started at version 12. But that’s just semantics really.
I’d recommend trying to move towards Edge if you can at some point and try to rely less on sites that require ActiveX controls. They’ve been deprecated for a reason.
Aside from anything, IE11 isn’t likely to evolve any further and it will likely experience rendering issues in modern sites much more frequently.
As for the report I’m still fairly certain it’s the same root cause, even if it presents itself slightly differently.
