Integrate Xenforo with a Rails app

Hello,
I'm actually developing a Ruby on Rails application and since I need a forum I'm looking at Xenforo.
Is it possible to make Xenfore use a customized users database table? Is it possible to synchronize sessions too? The rails database is actually being generated by the Devise gem. How would it work for password encryption?
