    Whats everyones opinion...
    /forums /forum or /community

when pretty urls are active, /forums is also added to whatever you choose.

Whatever is fine. However, if you choose /forums or /forum, I'd change the forum route to something like section. I don't want my urls to look like /forums/forum/main-forum.1

    /forums/section/main-forum.1 looks better.

SEO wise, whatever you choose is fine. Technically you're wasting one keyword if you go with a URL like /forums/forum. But there's little room for improvement in that area i guess.

I am thinking about going with

Since that can be used as two keywords
    "Forum" and "forums" right?
Or will Google only use that as "forums"

Yeah, Google won't give you more weight because you have the keyword forum twice in your URLs.

1.2 Route Filters, there's a manual entry on it.
