Installed in a temp location, how to go 'live'?

I've currently got my xenforo installed at a temp location on my webspace, at /xenforotest
my existing vB4 is installed at /forum

Once I do a final import of my vb4 database into xenforo and it's all working, what do I need to do to move my /xenforotest to /forum - in terms of what configuration files do I need to modify ?
Presumably deleting the vb software from /forum and moving or renaming /xenforotest to /forum isn't enough.

How can I move my installation to a different directory?
Update the Board URL in the ACP -> Options -> Basic Board Information and move the files to the new directory. You may need to restart the server for the change to take effect.

Presumably you will also want to implement redirection?

Also I'm not sure I follow you with regards to redirection.
Do you mean that if I do an import with xenforo at /xenforotest then I need to implement redirection once I move xenforo to /forum ?
or is it to do with redirects from vb4 to xenforo?

That's only required in certain circumstances (caching, etc.) so most likely it won't be required. If it is though, speak to your host.

Precisely.
If you want old vB URLs from Google, etc. to redirect to the equivalent threads and posts in your new XenForo installation then you will need the redirect scripts.
