XF 2.1 Installation of Xenforo - Top level or subfolder

Hello everyone. Just bought the Xen license and excited to get working on this.

So, I want to have the Xenforo home page that I see on a lot of forums e.g. mydomain.com Like this one here..... I like this one.... https://gbatemp.net/
So the question is whether or not I install the software on the top level or the mydomain.com/forums/ ? Or is there a separate thing to do to have the top level "home" page look and the forum on the /forum sub?

Thanks. Not new to FTP and website creation, but new to the forum software.

If the home page is part of XF (e.g. an add-on, page node, etc.), XF must be installed in the domain root.

If you are using something like WordPress or another software package for the home page, XF must be installed in a directory, such as /community.

Ok. Thanks. When you look at this page https://gbatemp.net/ this looks like it is Xenforo home page, right? That's how I see it since it has "powered by Xenforo" at the bottom, but I do suppose they could have added that for grins.

It looks like a custom portal/home page.

XF is installed in the domain root.

So does XF have any built in custom page editor for home pages?? Also, is there a PDF for the software somewhere either in PDF format or a website with the topics?
