XF 1.2 Index Page Route Issues

I placed 'forums/' as the value in Index Page Route field and noticed some issues.

Foremost, it did not change the forum index url. It remains 'xen.domain.com.'

When I click on a forum board category link, it does show 'forums/' in the URL.

I noticed that when I change the Index Page Route to 'forum/' it actually changes the forum index page URL to 'forums/' - note the 's.' It also breaks the home link and says the page can't be found.

This is odd behavior. I just want the forum index page to have 'forums/' on it.

FYI - I am using SEO friendly URLs.

Suggestions? thanks in advance

The index page route will not add the route to your URL. It is the route of which the content you want to be the index.

Setting the index route will not have the desired effect you want. It just instructs the software what to do when you hit the index. It will not modify the URL.

Oh ok. I guess I don't understand that option at all. :p I thought it would help me set that forum index to /forums.

Quick example, if your site centered around resources, you could set that option to resources/ and any time someone hit your index page, it would display the resource manager and not the node list.
