XF 2.2 Custom index page route (user's choice)

I created a landing page and the index page route links to it. Some users complain about it and so I want to give them the possibility to choose a custom index page route of their own. So I created a custom user field with some options. Now I need some code that brings it all together. Any help would be very appreciated.

Just tell them to save the page of their choice in their browser tab/bookmarks.
