Inbox alert not disabling until i click

Whenever i start a new personal conversation the inbox shows up in red (with the number of msg) but unlike the Alert system which disables the red alert after a drop down of the entire msg, this one will not disappear until i click and see the message again.

This happens even when i start the personal conversation. It doesn't make sense to click on the same post i started.

Could this be a bug or is there a button hiding somewhere to be tweaked?

The inbox "alert" won't go away until you read the message -- that's correct.

But it shouldn't appear when you start a conversation. That's not something that happens to me.

Ok.. i tried to start a new PC again and this time it didn't show up

.. and i tried replying to an old inbox msg.. u know what it shows
