XF 1.5 importer: XenForo 1.2+ data and internal data

I am moving my XF forum from one host to another host.
In the process of following steps detailed in https://xenforo.com/help/importing/ to import from a previous installation, I did a clean install at http://www.mydomain.com/f/ with all XF files. I have created a new database.

I am asked in the "Configure Importer: XenForo 1.2" in the admin console the full paths to the "Data Directory" and "Internal Data Directory". Can I just upload the "data" and "internal_data" from my previous install via FTP in some "http://www.mydomain.com/old_install/data", ".../old_install/internal_data" and then point to these folders?
Or should I replace "data" and "internal_data" in http://www.mydomain.com/f/"?

Why are you doing an import for a server move?

Just copy the database and server files across.

An answer to my original question would be helpful.

You will need to upload the folders to your new hosting then configure the importer to point it to the server path, not the web url.

That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.
