    Which importers/converters are available?
As of 27 May 2011, there were the following importers available:
    • There are official vBulletin 3.6 and vBulletin 3.7/3.8 importers built in to the software.
    • There is an official IP.Board 3.1.x importer built in to the software.
    • An unofficial vBulletin 4.0/4.1 importer is available as an add-on.
    • An unofficial PunBB 1.2/1.3 importer is available as an add-on.
    • An unofficial SMF 2 importer is currently being developed.

A lot of people (myself included) have imported via vBulletin using Impex.

xfservices.com offers smf -> xenforo convert service. Maybe worth looking into.

In that case a round about conversion would be the best way. i.e. Smf->vb->xenforo. I converted someone 's forum like that a month or so ago and it converted fine.

Yes. The only thing there is that passwords will have to be reset and there are no 301 redirects, but it'll work.

A few other things like attachments, usergroups permissions etc won't be converted either.
