Can I do an import in 2 stages?

I have an old asleep VB forum to import to XF (stage 1)

But also most of the same members have been on an email list until recently which I ran. So I want to import that content.
The thing is it's taking a long time to clean up the txt file with the email messages - because people are so bad at trimming email posts, plus the email list adds spam to the bottom of the posts.

Could I import the VB forum to XF as a standard import to get the forum going ...
then add a second import of these posts in the txt file?

You can't import data twice, you will just end up with duplicate content.

The only way to do it is either clean up the posts before importing, or do the import and clean them up afterwards.

The email list posts don't exist on the VB forum. They are on a yahoo list and I've got the downloaded posts in a txt file.
So I don't think there'd a be a duplication issue. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Maybe you're right and cleaning up afterwards would be easier.

How were you planning to import the Yahoo posts?

Unless there is an importer for that in vB using ImpEx, it's not something you could import into XenForo anyway.
