Import from wbb 4.0

Discussion in 'XenForo Pre-Sales Questions' started by Curious George, Jan 26, 2015.

  1. Hello there,

I have never really used Xenforo on a live site. I just played a bit with the demo. I was wondering if there is a way to import users, forums, database, etc successfully from wbb 4.0.x.

From what I've gathered so far, there was a plugin importer around here, which is now discontinued, and that only worked with older version of wbb.

I read in the pre-sale FAQ that "You can convert to a compatible version of any supported software first," but would it be possible in the case of wbb if the old plugin importer is not available any longer?

Maybe the new 1.4.4 allows to import from other platform natively and I'm not aware about it?

Thanks for whoever will be so kind to reply

  3. The importer does not support Woltab Burning Board. Is there a way to import from WBB 4.0.x?

You'll need to import to another forum software that supports both WBB and XenForo and then import that to XenForo.

  5. For support you meant import I guess. So, it's a two-step process, gotcha, thanks.

It was a typo. You must have responded at the same time I fixed it. :p

Oh, wait. You must be referring to this part:

My typo was: "You'll need to support..."

    But, anyway, yes.

  9. Yes, just the support>import word, but we're on the same page :)

This seems like a lengthy and tedious process in which lots of content might get lost/misplaced and data corrupted. Any idea which other forum software might have a working wbb 3.x/4.x importer? I'm already looking around.
