    Hi,

Some time ago I had a forum in which I used xenForo, but after a while I closed the forum and made a backup of the database.

Now I want to create the forum again as it was before, using the database backup that I had made.

    How can I do this?

Create a database on the server. Import the data that you saved. Upload the files and edit the edit the config file to add your database info.

AWS is correct. But you also need to restore backups of the data and internal_data directories. If you don't have those directories then you can recreate them, but you will have lost avatars and attachments which are stored there. If you have to recreate those directories then it will also be necessary to manually recreate the internal_data/install-lock.php file.

    Hi,
Thanks for the answer, but I still have a doubt:

My old xenForo was installed with another xenForo license (owned by my former business partner). If I import the old database to my new xenForo installation (with my new license) will I have problems?

    Thank you!
