Impersonate User - A.K.A Post as User

This add-on allows you to create threads and posts as if you were another user. All you need to do is enter a username.

This is possible when using quick reply, the full reply form and when creating a thread.

It is fully permission controlled, and there is a node-level permissions controlling users that can't be impersonated.

It is also integrated with the moderator log - a moderator log entry is made when someone posts an impersonated thread/post.

Allow 'Guest' Impersonation

This update (sponsored by @Brentnauer) allows you to use a non-existent username when impersonating. This must be first enabled in the options:

We use this in vBulletin when a user cannot fully describe the problem they are having. The use if restricted to those responsible for the site.

The test site appears to be no longer available according to the post that appears there. What is the status of this add on?

It's "Unmaintained".
You may use it but do not expect any improvements for it.

This tool only allows one to post. The vBulletin tool allowed one to browse as the target user and see what they could see on all the screens.
