XF 2.0 Images from Conversations aren't showing up in emails

When I receive an email from a conversation, the images show up broken in my Mac Mail mail client, as well as on my iPhone.

Here's what I see:

187750

And here's the raw HTML from the email:

@Ranger_b0b (https://wranglertjforum.com/members/2665/), this is what happe=
ns in real world scenarios in our vehicles. The first graph shows torque vs=
rpm when the engine load (ie the road load) is increasing. The 2nd shows w=
hat happens with different overdrive gear ratios. Attached paper goes into =
the math if you want to read it.

Depending on how our 4.0L curves look=
with a given transmission , you can have increased torque when the rpms dr=
op. Most auto transmissions these days are set up to give a small torque bo=
ost from what I am reading. Hope this clarifies some of the questions you h=
ave.

I tried making a similar graph for our 4.0, but the excel sheet i=
s on my home laptop. Of course it is approximate since I had to read off wh=
atever I found on google.

The odd thing is that the link those images are using in the HTML code work just fine.

What am I missing here?

It looks to me like the images are actually referencing attachments. It's very likely/possible that your mail client can't access this attachment because it's not making the request with your cookies. (Most mail clients wouldn't.)

So there's no actual way to fix this then as the problem isn't with XenForo itself?

Seems weird since I'm using the later version of Mac Mail on the latest version of Mac OS.

Another oddity, this didn't happen until the XF2 upgrade. With XF1 the images showed up just fine.

No, there wouldn't be a direct way to resolve this. I'd have to double check, but I don't believe XF1 would have actually even tried to display attachments in emails. (Note that embedded images that are available to guests should still work.)

Okay, I won't worry about it in that case! I couldn't remember if XF1 did this or not.

It's no big deal either way, I just thought maybe it might have been a bug, but it sounds like that's not the issue.
