Images cannot be shared between threads ?

I copied that images URL .... and posted it in another thread.

Not for images that are attachments.

Actually I've just noticed that you did it with the URL of the attachment rather than the ATTACH BB Code.

So you used [IMG]http://xenforo.com/community/attachments/upload_2014-8-6_17-44-50-png.79861[/IMG]

Aside from referrer checks in place, if you hotlink an attachment like that you're at the whim of the permissions in place. If you use image proxying, it's always going to request an image (if necessary) and be treated as a guest. And if guests can't view the attachment...
