Well it may be but Edge isn't much better/different than IE. As long as IE/Edge is used by even the slightest amount of people compatibility has to be maintained. We have to keep in mind not everyone is tech savvy like most of us and they have to keep to what they know and if they use Windows that will be IE/Edge. I know I've been trying for 5 years to get my father in law to use either Chrome or Firefox but he's always using IE/Edge.
