Image Proxy Issue

A user posted this in July 2019. It is showing as a broken image now, but can see it when I go into edit mode on the post:

https://proxy.topixcdn.com/ipicimg/Q5SVTB3MH8N596SH-v1-pad750x401xx444x.img

In the Image Proxy test tool, the error message being displayed is:

https://proxy.topixcdn.com/ipicimg/Q5SVTB3MH8N596SH-v1-pad750x401xx444x.img could not be fetched or is not a valid image. The specific error message was: File is not an image.

The image does work when I just browse to it. Is the problem because the respective file has a *.img extension?

That doesn't load as an image for me. It loads a web page.

Ok, when I attempt to insert this into a new test-post, XF isn't allowing me to do it. I suppose that is a good thing. Is this something that would have been allowed in 2019?
