XF 2.1 image embedding broke after updating to 2.1.3

so i've updated the forum to 2.1.3 today ... and now whenever i try to embed an image (via URL) i see the standard progress bar, and the image even shows in the post for a split second ... but then it just disappears and nothing gets embedded

was previously on 2.1.1 and everything worked just fine
