Never understood the notion of being upset with people posting their own frustrations with the current status quo.
I'd say nobody is upset with that. What annoys people is when the same people
a) post the identical tirades again and again for months.Everybody has read them already countless times. They don't change a thing. In the good old usenet days one of the golden rules was "post something new" - this applies to forums as well. If in a forum anyone posts the very same content 20 times at some pont people will get annoyed.
b) can't stop to post endless FUD w/o any foundation and in heavy rotation. This is simply destructive, often simply disinformation and in many forums they would be banned if they don't stop doing so.
We are all sitting in the same boat: No one knows what is going on, investments for further development of the own forums are delayed and even those who have no rush to upgrade have become very annoyed about the shambolic communication by XF. We are in a phase of insecurity, all XF customers together, this is our boat.
Now imagine you were in a boat on the ocean, insecure about where all this is going as we have no map and no idea how distant the land is and we know that a small team is steering the boat towards a harbor but in the end we don't see any movement (we are in the open sea) and those guys on the machines stopped communicating. We don't know where they are heading to, we don't know if or when we arrive - all we know is that all of the predictions of the crew have proven false and now they have stopped communicating. Everyone on the boat is thus somewhat unhappy. some more, some less.
A bunch of the people with you on this boat can't stop to cry "we will all die" endlessly and very loudly while others phantasize about sea monsters that would soon be there to eat us all (which they claim to have absolute safety about) while again others can't stop complaining that the boat clearly lacks a bigger swimming pool and food used to be better in former times as well. And others that the world will end if we don't get fancy blinking lights and a new paint job for our boat by tomorrow. All of that in endless, ever repeating tirades while those whiners additionally complain that not all passengers of said boat would complain in the same way and not as loud as they do.
At the same time life isn't too bad: The boat swims and there are no signs that it will sink or any other dangers and in the end it is a stable boat. A comfy and safe cruise ship, not the most modern features, but proven to withstand storms and technically sound. Enough food, the weather is fine, everything works as it should, we even have internet.
Imagine the situation and what that small crowd of loud whiners would do to the mood of the passengers - I bet: Sooner or later you'd be annoyed by them, too.
