You might want to consider something like this if you want more actively updated content, findable content, like-able content, moderateable content.FWIW, I heavily use pages on our implementation of XenForo.
Make that 5.Make that four, I heavily use pages on our implementation of XenForo as well.
You need to think before you talk. You make yourself and the company look bad.Can confirm. You voice criticism when warranted. But that's not enough in the eyes of some. You must completely transform yourself into an enemy of the people and continually remind everyone why you are more superior to everyone else because you've found what you deem to be a better forum solution and vehemently express negative opinions about everything else otherwise you're just a silly fan boy.
Here is another website in the wild using them. I think more people would use pages, if there was an easy way to display a single post or the first post of a thread within a page / widget. The current workaround using search forums and a widget is a roundabout way... but it works. An official portal / cms add-on would solve so many problems and I am sure many people would be willing to pay for it.I've never seen pages being used in the wild. not one.
You need to stop being angry and judgemental of the staff here mate. You need to think before you talk. You make yourself and the company look bad.
Yeah i know. You can add whatever you want to the navigation bar in the ACP, even route filtering to clean up the page's URL to look more "in place".
So basically xenforo is more expensive.compare self hosted to self hosted.
$195 from xenforo for only a forum.
$499 from invision for so much more.
now before you lash out that would be $395 for xenforo and you still don't have clubs, calendar or pages.
and that $395 is only compared to base what is already offered by invision.
so add another $200 into that price for xenforo.
no i have no real dog in the hunt.
but compare apples to apples and not to kumquats.
Depends on your needs. So basically xenforo is more expensive.
So we pay 500$ for pages and calendar? You don't say.compare self hosted to self hosted.

I second this!In terms of CMS ... @Bob makes amazing CMS style add-ons that are robust and solid enough to practically be 1st party add-ons.
You can with xf syntax. <xf:sidenav>moo</xf:sidenav>If XF's pages also allowed you to add a side nav for a group of pages, now that would be cool.
