I found the man who stole other's add-on

Yes..... :D That's why before rebuilding my forum I banned almost all users who had logged in, downloaded and disappeared :D Now I'm waiting for them again and I'll ban them again. Yes, it's not easy, but it's worth it ;) And when they buy a new license, and they are 1000000000% legal I will ban them AGAIN. And when they buy a second-hand license I will ban them again. And every time these users come and try to register on my forum, they will be banned. And so on :)
If I were you, I would force people to write a domain information required field and what they are doing for the website and community. If a domain has no active and should be illegal, that they are rat and pirate.

Well, remind me never to buy an addon from you, because I might not have any incentive to stick around either, after I got what I paid for.

Honestly, I don't care if anyone buys my supplements or not. It's already clear that even if someone does, it's not worth the effort again unless strict and decisive measures are taken. Anyway, I've stopped doing anything for XenForo for the time being. I don't want to because I don't want my hard work to go to waste again.

Yes exactly, this is one of the points in the Terms and Rules of my forum. :)

Maybe not a great long-term business strategy to require buyers to justify why you should take their money. Might just drive more people to get pirated copies.

Thank you, @Ozzy47
I just want to develop the community and help more users access XenForo, taking XenForo to new heights.
I have no other intention but to elevate XenForo.
Thank you for your feedback

You are a scumbag.

Did you even pay for copyright removal on your website? I doubt it since you are so happy to share nulled xf copies to 'elevate' xenforo.

Not sure how he isnt even banned yet lol

Not really, only scumbags will get pirated copies of addons, a honest person won’t get pirated software because the developer makes it hard to get.
Maybe. Or maybe those "honest" people will just decide to do without entirely, because they don't want to reward your intrusiveness and contribute to it becoming standard practice. But heh, you can try it out, maybe it will work for you.

Aaah so it follows the xf standards in communication.

the scumbag has even admitted he runs the site and willing to remove resources etc. seriously not sure why its so hard for people to just do their job.
-1 user(client) banned for stealing = -60$ per year! If they banned everyone who downloads and shares in communities with stolen content it wouldn't be just -60$ per year, can you guess? Some would say "Just business, nothing more" :( But the fact that you as a developer are harmed, that your work has gone to waste, that you have wasted hundreds of hours, nerves to do something useful, who cares? The important thing is that someone somewhere is making some money. As a friend of mine says, "Not money, There are no more people left!". We have become soulless, insensitive empty shells, then we wonder why everything has become gray, monotonous and boring. If I have to be honest, I didn't buy XenForo just for what it is, here I saw a community that supports, respects and helps each other. I saw light in the face of the owners of this system. That's where the hope came from, and what did it turn out to be? You buy crappy offshore hosting, some crappy domain, and you use everything for free, and on top of that you can share other people's work, and even sell it, and no one will ever tell you or do anything to you. You're even more likely to get banned for posting a link to a crappy community with stolen stuff than for stealing it........ I'm disappointed! :(

This thread is an example of why resource providers should have had an area where this discussion could have been public only to resource providers and developers (as requested a decade ago). It allows for reports to be made and collaborated on by others, and direct feedback by the staff 🤷‍♂️. It also allows for more detailed information to be shared that isn't completely open to the public and thus doxxing people. Please consider doing this, as it would make communication and collaboration for piracy much easier; attempts to do this on a second site (one by Floris I believe, and one by another admin site) ultimately failed because getting people to go to another site rarely works.

There's an older thread where "honest" people talked about how they willingly would remove copyrights because they did not believe they had to pay for them. If you can find the thread, some of the people in it are astounding (and disappointing).

Its amazing how people stand up for scumbags or circumvent licensing requirements.

I don’t think it would matter. I reported someone eight days ago to three staff members via PM and it’s been crickets.

No reply saying it would be looked into, no reply saying I was dumb and wrong, no reply saying more proof was needed.

It’s best to have this out in public to get more people’s eyes on it and draw attention to the scumbags that steal our work and XF’s work.

Well you got what you wanted, as it was deleted.
It's not what I wanted; it's what's legal and right. You must follow the legal process.

If you asked (like I have) Chris or any other staff which forums have a revoked license, they will tell you that they don't give out customer data, even though it's a revoked license. This is likely because of their privacy policy.

XenForo Limited will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your explicit permission or are required by law to do so. We may use your personal information to send you security information, product updates, or other information pertaining to XenForo Limited, or your account.

I would suggest never making that mistake again. It can be seen as an "anti-hero" move, but even the anti-hero can be prosecuted for not following laws and procedures to get at criminals.

In this case I agree, but there have been instances where having a place to share information would help to lessen loss to pirates. Or at the very least could post private information without fully doxxing them in public 🙃.

You can sit on here and watch known pirates visit an addon on here, then within a minute or two, watch it show up on their site.
Idea: Honeypot an add on.

Add it to resources and only let people "known" to pirate see and download it. If it pops up on a site, you've narrowed the window to banning them outright here.

Or, like the XF add on itself, bundle a "license" into it where it'd output a unique public variable to the website somewhere. If it's detected, you know which user downloaded the add on. Likely, they wouldn't snoop around to be able to see where the output is being processed and what the variable could be. I'm sure you could figure out how to do this (automatically edit all add on files and rezip them with the license, like in a CSS class .ozz-mods-32d or some other way), then if it's caught on more than 1 site, revoke the entire license for future upgrades.

I mean it's still not fool-proof, but still.
That's why, I am disappointed that @Ozzy47 told me, that was illegal to do ioncube. I have abandoned my add-on development and will not release my add-on for popular in the future. I'm done with all pirate b*t*rd. They make my heart pain when I see my add-on was stolen from anywhere sites. I was not happy.

You can use IonCube, you just can't list them here. If your add ons speak for themselves, people will buy them with IonCube on your own site.

I'm not standing up for anyone, if you might be including me in that little proclamation (since the person was replying to my comment). If you read my reply to Thangvip9x above, you can clearly see that I'm on your side. I just don't agree with some of the "solutions" that people here are coming up with, which are evidence more of strong emotion than good business sense. But I've said my piece, I'm out of here. You guys enjoy your party.
