But that's permissible. You have a buy now link on your add ons that take you to your site.

(I'm on your side here, I just don't know what else beyond screenshots they need as proof as they can just sell on another site and another site... it sounds like evidence that the files are the same is the only way, requiring you to buy it, see it, then report it)

I'm all for name and shaming, but just giving you a heads up there. (Overall, it's not a good look, even doing it for this purpose, because you're sending a sign that you will mishandle PII regardless of what a user agreed to)

Well you got what you wanted, as it was deleted.

But ya'll keep defending these criminals as it's their "right" to remain private. Meanwhile, nothing is being done. Says enough.
 
I don't understand why someone would pirate addons/plugins to sell and make you lost of your earn paid?

This needs to stop! This would make developers uncomfortable or unhappy and that developer may or will drop addon support in the future. Is it better to take action and stop someone steal addons?

We must protect developer who created addon that make very popular and intelligent of XenForo.

I wish XenForo staff could take action and get arrest or sue people that someone who stolen and make money, that way in my dream come true. It's sad that is not possible or not gonna happen.

It's easier and cheaper for people to buy a subscription compared to purchasing them from the developers.

Most people that browse those websites don't have a legitimate XF license to begin with.

I understand that it wouldn't be better to make XenForo core and add-on license validation that would make it difficult to stop crack?

So you would rather Xenforo be tied up dealing with lawyers because of a privacy complaint? This is why reports like this should be dealt with privately through reporting mechanisms like the one XF has for pirated copies of their software. Posting, or allowing to be posted, information classed as private in a public venue is a risk to the company, no matter what your rationale might be. Privacy laws exist and businesses are taking a risk if they don't follow them, which includes enforcing their own privacy policies. I don't support the crap that these guys are pulling, but I also don't want Xenforo getting sucked into the legal blackhole that is privacy law.

No, I don't. Do you think people will get to their lawyer for an email address being posted online, one that doesn't reveal any name but only a username? Especially when that also links that person to piracy? I realize I'm getting worked up more than I should. So, I'm going to withdraw myself from this topic.

What do you mean, are they resell the addons?
There's lot of sites that share the addons for free as everything paid, it's not ok but resell something that you didn't done it's next level.
