@xIsabel38 I am not quite sure what you are trying to say. What do you mean by "if they wanted to help"... ??? or making a "non-detrimental change ... and then send me some sort of email or PM explaining..." or "doesn't really put any face value to what the person has to say thereafter."
This doesn't make any sense really. Who ever said these were nice people trying to help me?? Or taking their advice because I trust them?? I am not sure about where you got this idea from..
What he's getting it is that some hackers do what they do basically because they can, and sometimes they do it for what they believe are ethical reasons, like exposing a security risk in a popular software. In other words, their intent is not always malicious. Unfortunately for you, though, the person you were hacked by was definitely malicious. It would have been one thing if all he had done was scrawl a message that basically said you needed to take better care with your security - that would have been annoying but arguably helpful to you in the long run - but when he started destroying data he showed his true colors.
