I Bit the Bullet and MOVED Servers to Mikes!

@xIsabel38 I am not quite sure what you are trying to say. What do you mean by "if they wanted to help"... ??? or making a "non-detrimental change ... and then send me some sort of email or PM explaining..." or "doesn't really put any face value to what the person has to say thereafter."

This doesn't make any sense really. Who ever said these were nice people trying to help me?? Or taking their advice because I trust them?? I am not sure about where you got this idea from..

What he's getting it is that some hackers do what they do basically because they can, and sometimes they do it for what they believe are ethical reasons, like exposing a security risk in a popular software. In other words, their intent is not always malicious. Unfortunately for you, though, the person you were hacked by was definitely malicious. It would have been one thing if all he had done was scrawl a message that basically said you needed to take better care with your security - that would have been annoying but arguably helpful to you in the long run - but when he started destroying data he showed his true colors.

Using Mike's xfhost also. I have a new start and only a dozen members, but just wanted to start on a good site and not have to move it later on from my other host (1and1.com). Just saved a bunch of work and probably headaches down the road.

Oh yes, that is totally understood as well. Hackers typically never have a face. Meaning that they typically can never be found and a lot of times are just TOTALLY random. I feel this was totally random still... meaning I don't have anyone with a personal vendetta against me or anything and I am sure I don't even know this person. Probably some zit-faced teenager in a basement somewhere! LOL! But, I do feel that with the little "notes" left behind that it was someone from this forum that stumbled across me, and looked at my post history to get the specific names he used to deface my forum.

Amen to that @Steverd ... My forum only has a little over 60 members and still relatively "new" with not a very active forum thus far... however, I am so glad I waited no longer.
