Not a bug I believe bug in user preferences

If I try to change the user's preferences in administration, only those relating to the signature are saved.

Even if you select:

Receive news and update emails
Receive activity summary email
Receive email when a new conversation message is received

They are not saved in forntend.

Can you confirm that the 2 screens I attach concern the same preferences but one is the preference that the user sets while the other is the preferences that the administrator can set for the user?

Just tested on a user. Whatever I set in admin did actually change in the users's own preferences setting

Why are you talking about 2.2.16? The latest version of 2.2.x that I can download is 2.2.13 and 2.2.16 doesn't appear.
So for you too, if you set the email preferences for the user from administration, these are not changed for the user then in his panel?

No, if I change in the Admin panel, those changes are reflected in the user's own settings as designed and expected.

That will be exactly why. Licence renewal gives you access to versions released since the licence period end, up to 2.2.16 and 2.3.0

Security Fix​

Today we are advising all customers running XenForo that a potential security vulnerability has been identified. All affected customers should either upgrade to XenForo 2.1.15 or XenForo 2.2.16.

If you are a XenForo Cloud customer, a fix has been rolled out automatically, and no further action is required to address this issue.

If you are running a pre-release version of XenForo 2.3, you should follow the instructions in the announcement thread for the XenForo 2.3.0 Release Candidate 1 release.

I which case, you need to renew to get 2.2.16. There's a reason I just treat this as an annual renewal rather than playing the "do I need to renew" guessing game. Patch releases still matter.

Yes, it interests you. Any security issue interests you. I'm speaking as an IT manager with 25 years in corporate IT under his belt there.

The best solution is to renew and install 2.2.16. That said, if you go down to the section in the post you linked entitled "Apply a patch manually", it explains how to edit a file and do an upload to patch the security issue in question. It won't fix any other issues you may have that were patched after 2.2.13, though.

If a person is fine with an older version of the forum and (except for security issues) who are you to say your personal opinion on the matter?
For the moment I'm not interested in xf 2.3 (also because it is practically the same as xf 2.2 so I have no interest in updating my license unless I have to solve security problems and you are nobody to express a personal opinion!
